"Fox News Sunday" Ratings: Rush Limbaugh Gives Chris Wallace Big Boost

Rush Limbaugh's 30-minute screed against President Obama on "Fox News Sunday" delivered host Chris Wallace a huge ratings boost.

On FOX broadcast, the show averaged 1.542 million total viewers (up 41.7% over the previous week), and 601,000 viewers in the Adults 25-54 demographic. In its FOX News repeats (2PM and 6PM), the show drew even more, picking up an additional 2.350 million total viewers and 579,000 A25-54 viewers. Combined, those 3.892 million total viewers represent Chris Wallace's biggest combined audience of 2009.

NBC's "Meet the Press" won the week with 3.145 million total viewers. ABC's "This Week" averaged 2.745 million total viewers for second place, while CBS' "Face the Nation" averaged 2.516 million total viewers for third place.

Blue dog Dems: Agree or disagree?

As a lifelong dittohead and proud conservative, I'd like to say that it certainly is a sad commentary when Blue dog Dems (or any elected official for that matter) put their personal agenda AHEAD of what's good for the country legislatively. It's sickening to think that their vote on ANY legislation is tied to their re-election. Yet admittedly in this particular case....it's a Godsend!

Rachel Maddow takes Rush's "Go kill yourself comment!" seriously!

So, on the one hand Rush is "just an entertainer" and should not be taken seriously. On the other hand if Rush says something "seemingly" controversial, then lets run with the out of context quote without engaging in any actual journalistic fact checking!

Young voters who helped elect Obama stayed home

Rush was right, here come the excuses:

RICHMOND, Va. – Last year, 23-year-old Rashida Hill watched the presidential debates, visited the college political party meetings and put a Barack Obama bumper sticker on her townhouse door. She voted for Obama because she felt like the election was about "being a part of something."
But on Tuesday, the Virginia Commonwealth University student didn't bother voting in the governor's race because, she said, the candidates didn't give her anything to get excited about.
"The simple fact is, unless you put it in front of somebody, they're really not going to seek it out," Hill said.
Many of the young, first-time voters who propelled Obama to the presidency stayed home this year, a glaring absence that helped Republicans win governor's races in Virginia and New Jersey. More than 3 million voters who cast ballots in the 2008 presidential election — many of them minorities — failed to show up at the polls in either state.
Obama carried Virginia with 52 percent of the vote last year, but only 43 percent of voters surveyed in Associated Press exit polls Tuesday said they had voted for him.
Another group that solidified Obama's victory — independents — turned their backs on Democrats this year.
