"This is Why the American People Have Thrown You out of Power."!

RUSH: This is somewhat interesting. Democrat speaker Pro Tempore will not let Steve Buyer, Republican from Indiana speak. This was yesterday on the House floor, and this is a pretty interesting exchange. Listen to this.

RICHARDSON: For what purpose does the gentleman seek recognition?

BUYER: I ask unanimous consent to address the House for five minutes. Hearing no objection --

RICHARDSON: Five-minute special orders are not being recognized at this time.

BUYER: I ask unanimous consent to address the House for one minute. Hearing no objection --

RICHARDSON: Not being entertained at this time.

BUYER: Oh, so as a sitting member of the House the speaker chooses not to recognize another sitting member, is this correct?

RICHARDSON: Recognition is within the discretion of the speaker.

BUYER: So the discretion of the speaker here is not to recognize a ranking Republican member on a bill that is about to be heard that has never gone through the process of the committee. I ask to be recognized.

RICHARDSON: The House is proceeding with motions to suspend the rules.

BUYER: And if the chairman is not here to present the bill, shouldn't we go to the next bill and would therefore withdraw this bill?

RICHARDSON: The gentleman has not been recognized.

BUYER: I ask to be recognized. I ask unanimous consent to address the House for one minute. I don't even see anyone here on the floor to object, Madam Speaker, it's within your discretion. There is no one here to object. This is why the American people have thrown you out of power.

RUSH: Steven Buyer, Republican of Indiana. The woman was Laura Richardson, Congresswoman Laura Richardson acting as speaker pro tem. She's a Democrat from California.

Sarah Palin’s Response to Facebook ‘F*ggot’ Rant!

People probably think that my greatest frustration is the lies that are told in the tabloids and on hateful blogs full of anonymous sources about my family … and there are constant everyday lies that we have to read that are out there in the public. But my family and I…thick skin…we can take it, you know…we can take what the haters say despite the fact that there’s injustice in the situation.
I mean, look at the other day. Willow, finally, my 16 year old, she had had it up to here with somebody saying very, very hateful things about the family and saying mean things about her little brother Trig, and Willow finally responded and she used a bad word when she responded in defense of her family. And her response became national news, even hard news copy it turned into, so that’s ridiculous and I had to explain to her, “Willow, there is no justice here but you have to just zip your lip and let’s move forward.”

P.J. O’ROURKE: THE FUNNIEST MAN IN AMERICA!

P.J. O’Rourke is America's premier political satirist and has more citations in The Penguin Dictionary of Humorous Quotations than any other living writer. In this live appearance for Intelligence Squared he’ll be discussing his new book, Don’t Vote – It Just Encourages the Bastards, a brilliant, hilarious and ultimately sobering look at why politics and politicians are a necessary evil—but only just barely necessary. Moving from Adam Smith to Milton Friedman to a late-night girls’ boarding school game called Kill-F*@k-Marry, O’Rourke will explore the nature of the social contract. For him the essential elements are power, freedom and responsibility: the people like the freedom part, politicians like the power part, and hardly anyone wants to hear the responsibility part. This leads him to postulate the “Death, Sex and Boredom Theory of Politics.”

Workers World Party poem - "I got my scope on you Tea Party Fascists"!

Just when you thought we were well out of the Halloween season here comes Mike Martinez speaking at the Workers World Party 2010 National Conference Opening Plenary Session Nov. 13-14. Joy of joys (cough, cough). The conference boldly called to the broader movement with the theme of “Abolish Capitalism, Fight for a Socialist Future.” Mr. Martinez wants to "kick some asses to make America classless and bring socialism out of the ashes." Some 300 Party members, friends and allies received the message with apparent glee. Gee, what a crowd. Anybody got 300 one way tickets to Moscow? http://www.workers.org/2010/us/wwp_conference_1125/

Rush Limbaugh Tells the True Story of Thanksgiving!

RUSH: Okay, time for the real story of Thanksgiving. I want to precede this by sharing with you -- and I want to bounce off of our last call, Suzie. Sometimes she has trouble being optimistic. Now, I don't know that this would qualify as something about which you can run around and feel really optimistic about. Something struck me the other day. (It strikes me a lot, by the way.) I went to a dinner party on Friday night, and it was a buffet here where I live before I had to go over to the Breakers Hotel and introduce Ann Coulter and give her an award for David Horowitz's Restoration Weekend. There were a lot of people at this bash, and walking through the buffet and looking at all of the food, the shrimp, all the vegetables and everything, the desserts, it just struck me...

Happy Thanksgiving all!!!!!!!!

Iraq/ Afghan firefight video from 'Special Air Services'!

The following is a frightening peek into recent Iraq/ Afghan firefight conditions from 'Special Air Services' shot near a camp for the troops called 'The Stan'. It comes under fire everyday and this video clip serves to demonstrate the daily combat which the soldiers endure. The Special Air Service (SAS) is a special forces regiment within the British Army which has served as a model for the special forces of other countries. Thanks to YouTuber 'SpecialForces2011' for posting these.

In this next video U.S. Marines drive along a 'marine road' just as a road side bomb explodes. The footage is quite amazing as the earth bubbles roughly 60 feet in the air to the left of the vehicle forcing them to veer left as the soldiers release expletives. By the grace of God they are unharmed.

This final, grim video is very graphic and shows a long shot of Taliban troops killed after the stand on land mine. Together, these three video clips paint a very different picture of current combat conditions which the MSM otherwise ignore. God bless all of our troops!

Rush Limbaugh replays Algore singing "Ball of Fire" by Paul Shanklin!

With all the TSA news out there, I thought it was time to give some attention back onto another very “serious” subject longing for media attention. The following video is a parody about global warming based on the song "Ring of Fire" by Johnny Cash. Thanks to some skillful editing, Algore sings this song himself in this new video. Rush Limbaugh recently received a call from a gentleman in Chicago wanting to know what happened to Al Gore and asked Rush to play this on his show. He obliged of course. 730 days of Democrat Rule: The results are in!

Kudos to YouTuber jdhenchman who assembled this video for his depressed Democratic friends in hopes of helping them remember happier days. What follows is an invaluable written and visual summary of the legislative results of the past 730+/- days. They serve as a reminder of what happens when you govern with unchecked impiety coupled with unwavering partisanship.
  • House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on taking up the gavel in January 2007. She lost her speakership as a result of the 2010 election.
  • Rep. John Spratt (D-SC), to Pelosi's left, first elected in 1982, lost re-election.
  • White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel has resigned to run for Mayor of Chicago.
  • The S-CHIP bill raised taxes on cigarettes to pay for an expansion of the children's health care program, although expenses will outstrip the new tax revenue.
  • Sen. Blanche Lincoln (D-AR) lost her re-election.
  • Rep. Chet Edwards (D-TX), first elected in 1990, lost re-election.
  • Rep. Charlie Rangel (D-NY) gave up the chairmanship of the Ways and Means Committee after a series of ethics complaints, although he survived a primary challenge and was re-elected in 2010.
(List continues below video)

  • Rep. Ike Skelton (D-MO), first elected in 1976, lost re-election.
  • Rep. Steve Kagen (D-WI), first elected in 2006, lost re-election.
  • The cap and trade bill passed the House but was never voted on by the Senate, and is now considered dead.
  • Rep. Rick Boucher (D-VA), first elected in 1982, lost re-election.
  • Scandal-plagued Gov. Rod Blagojevich (D-IL) appointed Sen. Roland Burris (D-IL) to President Obama's old Senate seat, despite allegations that Blagojevich sought to sell the seat. Burris decided not to run for election, and a Republican won the seat.
  • Rep. Walt Minnick (D-ID), first elected in 2008, lost re-election.
  • Gov. Jon Corzine (D-NJ) lost re-election despite a strong campaign effort by President Obama.
  • Rep. Paul Kanjorski (D-PA), first elected in 1984, lost re-election.
  • During President Obama's State of the Union, Rep. Joe Wilson (R-NC) interrupted by yelling, "You lie!" Wilson apologized; despite being a top Democratic target, won re-election.
  • Rep. Bobby Bright (D-AL), first elected in 2008, lost re-election.
  • Against the background of the health care law debate and despite a strong campaign effort by President Obama, Democratic candidate Martha Coakley unbelievably lost the Massachusetts Senate seat to Republican Scott Brown.
  • Rep. James Oberstar (D-MN), first elected in 1974, lost re-election.
  • Rep. Dave Obey (D-WI), first elected in 1969 and the third longest serving member of the House, retired rather than face re-election.
  • Rep. Patrick Murphy (D-PA), first elected in 2006, lost re-election.
  • Sen. Arlen Specter (PA) switched to the Democratic Party after it became clear he would lose the Republican Party primary, then lost the Democratic Party primary.
  • Rep. Bart Stupak (D-MI), first elected in 1992, retired rather than face re-election. He had been the focus of a bitter debate over the health care law's funding of abortions.
  • President Obama and his advisers routinely speak of complete agreement among economists regarding additional stimulus spending. The Cato Institute took out an ad signed by hundreds of economists, including Nobel Prize winners, who disagreed.
  • Rep. Earl Pomeroy (D-ND), first elected in 1992, lost re-election.
  • Rep. Alan Grayson (D-FL), first elected in 2008 and considered a progressive hero for his biting criticism of Republicans, lost re-election by 18 points.
  • Sen. Russ Feingold (D-WI), first elected in 1992, lost re-election.
  • Rep. Bob Etheridge (D-NC), first elected in 1996, lost re-election. He had been caught on video manhandling students asking him questions on the street.
  • Rep. Kendrick Meek (D-FL), first elected in 2002, chose to retire and instead run unsuccessfully for the Senate seat, coming in third place.
  • Continuing the Bush Administration policy of defending DOMA and retaining Don't Ask Don't Tell alienated gays who supported the Democrats.
  • Sen. Harry Reid (D-NV) hung on to his Senate seat but is severely weakened as Senate Majority Leader.
  • The Obama Administration described how unemployment would drop once the stimulus was enacted, but the actuals have gone in the other direction.
  • Sen. Evan Bayh (D-IN), first elected in 1998, retired rather than run for re-election. He has been critical of his party's legislative agenda.
  • After the election, President Obama admitted in a morose press conference that his party had suffered a "shellacking."   Bookmark and Share
