Kathleen Sebelius: The Commerce Clause Gives The Government The Right To Mandate Health Insurance!

Bookmark and Share
Today: Kathleen Sebelius spoke at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. When asked by a CNSNews.com correspondent where the government gets the power to mandate that Americans purchase health insurance, her response was "I am not a lawyer" and plans to leave that up to the Department of Justice (DOJ). This response should concern all Americans as it sounds like she hasn't given this vitally important decision much in-depth thought despite the fact that she is the Secretary of Health and Human Services. Oy!

Former SNL'er Sen. Al Franken (D-Minn.) says the new health care law's individual mandate, which will require most people to purchase health insurance, is necessary to keep Americans from waiting until they are sick to buy insurance. This is because we are all too STUPID to take care of ourselves or to make these vitally important decisions for ourselves. It appears that Al Franken ALSO does not know where the government gets the power to mandate that Americans purchase health insurance
