UFO Appears Over London Olympics 2012...or does it?

At least that's what a video posted on YouTube revealed yesterday. We all know UFO's don't really exist, but it's still a really cool looking fake. Enjoy!

MV-22 Osprey Conduct Routine Maintenance and Functions Checks

Marine Medium Helicopter Squadron 265 conducts maintenance and functional checks of MV-22 Osprey tiltrotor aircraft aboard Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni July 25, 2012. This marks the first MV-22 Osprey aircraft deployment to Japan and a milestone in the Marine Corps' process of replacing CH-46E helicopters with the MV-22 Osprey, a highly-capable, tiltrotor aircraft, which combines the vertical capability of a helicopter with the speed and range of a fixed-wing aircraft. S

President Obama: America: You didn’t build that!

My opinionated analysis in response to: President Obama - 'If you’ve got a business -- you didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen' posted at: www.washingtontimes.com/blog/watercooler/2012/jul/15/picketvideo-obama-if-youve-got-business-you-didnt-/

I take specific issue when the President says: “Look, if you’ve been successful, you didn’t get there on your own…If you’ve got a business -- you didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen.” The President chooses to overlook the fact that most business owners and entrepreneurs actually do work hard and have earned the right to be acknowledged accordingly. Granted, the incentive to be the best business and create the best product is rooted in monetary rewards as well as personal liberty. Yet, businesses do not create themselves. Someone has to create them and these individuals themselves deserve the credit for “making this happen”. My grandfather started a multi-generational business many years ago which has benefitted many generations after him. Using the resources available to him at the time, he made it happen, not somebody else.

Not only does the President want to “spread the wealth around” as he stated before he was elected but now it appears he wants to spread the credit of individual success around as well. I cannot think of one business owner who would NOT honestly give due credit to “roads and bridges” built by prior generations for our benefit, therefore I do not think that this is a credible argument for the President to cling to. Besides, a portion of the local taxes we all PRESENTLY pay are supposed to be allotted for these very services anyway.

To be logically consistent, if the President’s argument is to acknowledge our predecessors who have established the opportunity for our success then certainly God himself should be at the top of this list. I don’t hear the President giving Almighty God due credit for creating the raw materials of the world in the first place or the giving of wisdom to each new generation. Crazy thought, I know. The President says he’s a Christian yet I wonder if this thought has crossed his mind.

History demonstrates that the more money we give our government the more it is often mismanaged. This translates to less control of the ever dwindling amount we get to keep and invest ourselves. Who gets to decide when enough is enough? Government is not a prerequisite for success. There were plenty of successful hard working people who preceded the establishment of government. In fact, our balanced government is one defined as “We, the people”. All of us are accountable to God how we use our resources and we should all hold the few in government accountable as well. Just a few thoughts rolling around in my opinionated, fertile mind.

Why we should be still and know that He is God!

It finally hit me this morning. The United States will not have a Christian leader for at least four more years, regardless of our vote in November. I can say this with assuredness only after examining the testimony of our two remaining Presidential candidates, as follows.

In a 2004 interview with Cathleen Falsani, Barack Obama said, “I believe that there are many paths to the same place.” Obama also said, “All people of faith—Christians, Jews, Muslims, animists, everyone knows the same God.”

(Animism in the belief in the existence of individual spirits that inhabit natural objects and phenomena. I had to look that one up)

Yet the Bible says otherwise: "I am Yahweh, and there is no other; Besides Me there is no God." Isaiah 45:5. There any many faiths prevalent today which would be offended by the mere "intolerance" of this passage. Certainly Islam and Animism would top that list. One wonders what then Senator Barack Obama was thinking when he said that. A Christian who believes God's own testimony, (which I would highly recommend) would not nor could not utter what he did with a straight face.

On the political right, we have Mitt Romney. He is a self admitted life long Mormon. Mormon founder and leader Joseph Smith believed and Mormonism today teaches that God was not always God: “We have imagined and supposed that God was God from all eternity. I will refute that idea, and take away the veil, so that you may see clearly....and that he was once a man like us; yea, that God the Father of us all, dwelt on an earth, the same as Jesus Christ himself did, and I will show it from the Bible” (Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, pp.345-346.

Again, the Bible says otherwise: "God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.” John 4:24. "The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom." Isaiah 40:28

It is clear that both of these men have "a" truth but do not have "the" Truth as identified in Holy Scripture. Should we care? Does it really matter?

I think Deuteronomy 8:19,20 provides a clear answer: "If you ever forget the Lord your God and follow other gods and worship and bow down to them, I testify against you today that you will surely be destroyed. Like the nations the Lord destroyed before you, so you will be destroyed for not obeying the Lord your God."

Look around this once God fearing country and ask yourself this question: Is God slowly removing His hand of protection on our country in response to its continued persistence to "follow other gods" and disregard the truth of God's Word? Financial crisis, social degradation, climate out if control, rumors of wars! Are these improving through social "engineering" or are we instead witnessing the breakdown of our culture and the birth of a replacement society.

Check out the graph below for an interesting perspective in the rise and frequency of natural disasters in this century. Keep in mind that despite improvements in information access, the number of floods and cyclones is rising compared to earthquakes. This remains significant.
