- Papa Ball seemed to believe that he had already prevented LiAngelo and his teammates from going to jail because they were on house arrest at a luxury hotel before President Trump even interjected on their behalf. He continued to reiterate that he didn’t believe shoplifting was that big of a deal.
- He didn’t seem to believe that Trump had much to do with their release from China because he already had “boots on the ground” there, and didn’t believe Trump deserved a thank you for getting them out. If Trump had paid bail for them or flown them home on Air Force One, where there is “a lot of space,” then Ball would’ve thanked him.
- There was one moment where Ball actually made a pretty good point, that the President of the United States should have more important things to do than worrying about being thanked by the father of a kid he saved from prison time.
