Ann Coulter was on Julie Menin’s “Give & Take” on Sunday, and came out with a few quotables.
Here’s a pretty stunning exchange, where Menin challenges Coulter on her comments about Democratic Congresswoman Maxine Waters, who is black:
MENIN: You recently said about Representative Maxine Waters that she ‘couldn’t get a job that didn’t involve wearing a paper hat without affirmative action.’ How is that not racism?
COULTER: She, I think, actually, is very very stupid — despite the fact that she’s black! It is possible to be black and stupid.
MENIN: You don’t think there is a racial undercurrent to what you’re saying about her?
COULTER: Um no, I think I wouldn’t have said it if I had a racist bone in my body, but I don’t look at the world the way liberals do, as black white black white black white — though I do notice the Democrats keep demanding the votes of blacks without taking blacks seriously for serious positions and brushing aside Paterson and brushing aside Rangel and brushing aside Donna Brazile, while blacks within the Republican party who are qualified actually do advance and advance quite well.
When Menin pointed out that Rangel’s “brushing aside” had been due to legitimate transgressions, Coulter brought up Chris Dodd, and assigns blame for the mortgage crisis on Barney Frank and Chris Dodd.

Later on in the program, she addressed the comments she made on the Joy Behar show, and reaffirmed who she felt the true danger to Obama was: “If Obama gets shot, it’s going to be by a liberal.” (Starts at about 2:29; prior to that she talks about her feelings on public schools).

A scientific scandal is casting a shadow over a number of recent peer-reviewed climate papers. At least eight papers purporting to reconstruct the historical temperature record times may need to be revisited, with significant implications for contemporary climate studies, the basis of the IPCC's assessments. A number of these involve senior climatologists at the British climate research centre CRU at the University East Anglia. S.E. Cupp on being an atheist & a conservative!

I just came across this interview with SE Cupp and was previously unaware that she was an atheist. No, she doesn't mention Limbaugh but she does talk about George Bush, limited government and reactions by conservatives when they discover she is athiest. She notes her "temporary" indecision when she says she "has left the door open to become a person of faith one day". To completely shut the door to God's existence is one thing, to leave the door open for a possible decision of faith is another. Those who choose this path must also realize that we are all a breath away from an encounter with our Creator, prepared or not, whether we believe He exists or not. S.E. has a master in religious studies therefore there is little point in debating Scripture. By her own testimony, she has simply not yet received the Gospel as truth (I have no doubt she views elements the Bible as a historical document). Knowledge and logic alone cannot effect belief, only an encounter with the Holy Spirit can. Personally, I choose to remove all doubt and live a transformed life. Kudos to S.E. for respecting/defending the beliefs of others. Here's the interview:

This blogger is NOT suggesting a revolution as such. I only wish to remind "ourselves" that the principles embodied in this declaration have resounded throughout the world in all the years since July 4, 1776. American reformers, whatever the cause - whether for abolition of slavery, for barring racial segregation, for advancing the rights of women - have reminded the public that "all men are created equal". Wherever people have fought against undemocratic regimes, they have argued using Jefferson's words, that governments derive "their just powers from the consent of the governed". Rush Limbaugh to President Obama: "You lie" (about jobs "created or saved") And unfortunately, the data support Rush's argument!

As though it's a darn shame that Rush Limbaugh, of all people, is actually factually correct about something! It begins:

"The question can be simply stated: "How many jobs did the $787 billion Stimulus Plan create?" The answer cannot be state at all, with any degree of accuracy. By most people's reasoning that means that the $787 billion has been wasted. Now we realize it has not all been "spent" but since it is assumed they will do so as they have done for what they have already spent, we contend that the accountability must be applied to the full $787 billion. The original idea can also be simply stated: In the face of rising unemployment President-elect Obama in December and January of 2009, just before he took office, advocated for the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) saying that it would create "3-4 million jobs and 90% of these jobs will be created in the private sector."

You can listen to it in his January 10. 2009 weekly radio address. Unemployment was at 7.2% at the time."


The "Report" he refers to in his address can be read by clicking here. A few day later Obama raised the estimate to 4 million jobs, again 90% in the private sector. The article goes on to say that:
"Even the president admits the Stimulus Plan has not worked. Within weeks of passage he switched from saying it would create 3-4 million jobs to saying that it would "save" that many jobs. Unemployment continued to climb. Now he has reduced the number to 650,000 jobs "saved or created". This ABC article chronicles some of the erroneous numbers that Team Obama have been putting out."
