A private citizen receives a visit from an Obama census worker who wants a little too much information:
"A US Census worker came to my house today. She was very nice and I tried to also be nice to her, after all she is trying to make a living and she doesn't know that all those questions that she asks, violate other people's rights. I told her where it in the Constitution and she wrote it down ( Article 1: Section 2: Clause 3). I hope she will go home and evaluate her job."

Members of the press speak with the Coast Guard reps about who's in charge in Grand Isle: The final question of the conference asked who was in charge – BP or the Coast Guard. The Coast Guard’s spokeswoman said that while BP was the "responsible party," the Coast Guard was "overseeing" BP’s operations. When pressed on what that meant, BP said they work "in tandem" on all decisions. "Coast Guard is in every meeting," he said. The Coast Guard then stepped in and said that wasn’t quite correct, as the CG oversees what BP does – it doesn’t make decisions with them. But they step in"when something’s not going right."

As a candidate two years ago, Obama, then a senator, mused aloud about holding a news conference every month. As president, Obama has held just four prime-time news conferences in the first 485 days of his term, but that is equal to the total number that his last three predecessors – combined – had held by the same point in their first terms. The Bushes had each held one; Bill Clinton, two.

Sen. Murray continues push to protect WA taxpayers from oil spll costs, urges ban!

Senator Murray spoke on the Senate floor to urge Republicans to end their obstruction and allow the Big Oil Bailout Prevention Act to pass. This bill, co-sponsored by Senator Murray, would make sure Washington state taxpayers won't have to pay to clean up after oil spills, and it would guarantee that oil companies are held fully accountable for the economic costs resulting from their accidents.

Ms. Murray states: "I'm going to fight to guarantee that what we are seeing on the Gulf Cost is NEVER allowed to happen on the west coast!"

Who "allows" oil spills to happen in the first place, Ms. Murray? Moreover, how can any mere mortal guarantee accident free energy exploration and extraction of ANY kind? The risk is a small price to pay for the benefits received!

"This scandal could be enormous," said Dick Morris, a former White House adviser to President Bill Clinton, on the Fox News Sean Hannity show last night. "It's Valerie Plame only 10 times bigger, because it's illegal and Joe Sestak is either lying or the White House committed a crime.

"Obviously, the offer of a significant job in the White House could not be made unless it was by Rahm Emanuel or cleared with Rahm Emanuel," he said. If the job offer was high enough that it also had Obama's apppoval, "that is a high crime and misdemeanor.

Union workers have been told not to come back until Thursday because of security concerns associated with the President's visit. Workers tell KRON 4's Kate Thompson this day off means they won't get paid.

"After you pay your Santa Monica parking ticket, where do you want to go in this Porsche?" Anderson said during the broadcast. "They must be desperate for money, honey."

R/V Bellows Returns from Gulf of Mexicos Loop Current!

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (Updated May 24, 2010) As scientific models show oil from the Deepwater Horizon spill entering the Gulf of Mexicos Loop Current, USF's R/V Bellows and a team of scientists ended a five-day voyage to the current Monday, but still have much work to do on water samples drawn from those waters.
The Bellows is the second USF ship involved in the oil spill response. The R/V Weatherbird sailed Saturday for its second trip into the spill zone, a six-day mission to determine if oil from the ruptured Deepwater Horizon well has pooled in the depths of the gulf.

But to those tasked with keeping the president apprised of the disaster, Obama's clenched jaw is becoming an increasingly familiar sight. During one of those sessions in the Oval Office the first week after the spill, a president who rarely vents his frustration cut his aides short, according to one who was there.

Well, as it turns out Obama's policies AREN'T working, the recovery act is a failure and failure needs to be opposed regardless of the President!

CNN (forget that it's CNN for the moment) iReporters submit their ideas to solve the Gulf Coast oil disaster. CNN then asked "scientist" Bill Nye to take a look at ideas submitted by ordinary folk and why they may or may not work: Plug the hole, move the oil & soak up the oil! Bill concludes by saying: "I hope with all the concern we do get respect for how complicated it is to provide everyone with all this energy that we all use all the time!" Well, at least he gets this right!

Note to Obama: Since you're job is far more complicated than drilling for oil, I'm sure that you have a great solution for how to plug the leak in your economically hemorrhaging administration! Instead of your usual knee jerk reaction of raising taxes, perhaps you also could explore a few other ideas.
