First Obamacare Enrollment Period in Trump Era Begins
Wednesday marks the start of the fifth open-enrollment for the Affordable Care Act, the law's first under President Donald Trump. Even though Obamacare remains in place, the Trump administration shortened the length of the open-enrollment period from three months to just six weeks, from November 1 through December 15. Trump has also cut down on advertising to drive enrollment to $10 million from roughly $100 million. A Standard and Poor's study estimates that 10.6 million to 11.4 million Americans will likely enroll in plans this year, down from 12.2 million last year.
